CIREBA Grant Programme Continues to Support Caymanians on Their Path to Homeownership

Another group of Caymanians have taken the step into homeownership with support from CIREBA’s First-Time Caymanian Homebuyers Grant Programme.
The latest recipients, Renee Powell, Nicholas McLaughlin and Justine Rhule, have each received assistance through the programme, which provides eligible Caymanian first-time buyers with grants of up to CI$5,000 towards qualifying costs associated with purchasing a home.

With a dedicated CI$200,000 fund, the programme was created to alleviate some of the financial pressures first-time buyers face beyond the purchase price itself. Legal fees, bank costs, valuations and other closing expenses can add significantly to the overall cost of completing a purchase.

Through the programme, CIREBA aims to help more Caymanians successfully complete the purchase of their first home.

“We’re pleased to see another group of Caymanians have benefit from the programme,” said Brian Wight, President of CIREBA. “There are many additional costs that come with buying your first home, and the CIREBA grant is here to help make that process a little easier.”

CIREBA member agents play an important role in the programme, helping eligible buyers understand the grant and guiding them through the application process. CIREBA agents Carey Burns , Brayden Philpott and Scott Roe (absent from the photo) helped the latest recipients find their first homes.

Dena Rousseau, Chief Operating Officer of CIREBA, said the programme continues to provide valuable support to Caymanians working towards homeownership.

“Each grant represents an individual or family taking an important step towards owning a home of their own,” she said. “We want eligible buyers to know that this support is available and to speak with their CIREBA agent about the programme as early as possible in their homebuying journey.”

The CIREBA First-Time Caymanian Homebuyers Grant Programme remains open to eligible applicants.
