Since launching earlier this year, the programme has supported a growing number of Caymanians on their journey to homeownership. CIREBA's dedicated CI$200,000 fund provides eligible Caymanian buyers with grants of up to CI$5,000 to assist with the costs of purchasing their first home. "Helping Caymanians become homeowners is something CIREBA and its members are proud to support," said Brian Wight, President of CIREBA. "Every grant awarded represents another individual or family taking an important step towards owning a home, and we're pleased to see the programme continuing to make a positive difference." The programme complements Government's existing stamp duty concession initiative and forms part of a broader collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve access to homeownership opportunities for Caymanians. To qualify for the grant, applicants must: Grant amounts are based on the property's purchase price for qualifying homes valued up to CI$600,000 (some restrictions may apply). Applications remain open. Submissions must be made within fourteen days of closing and be accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation. "For many people, buying a first home is one of life's biggest milestones," added Mr. Wight. "If this programme can help make that milestone a little more achievable for Caymanians, then it is doing exactly what it was created to do." For more information about the programme, eligibility criteria and the application process, prospective applicants are encouraged to contact a CIREBA member agent.
