George Town, Cayman Islands – June 2026 — The Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA) continues to support first-time Caymanian homebuyers through its grant programme, with additional recipients recently receiving funding. Funded through a dedicated CI$200,000 programme established by CIREBA, eligible Caymanian buyers can receive grants of up to CI$5,000 to help offset some of the costs associated with purchasing a first home. Since launching earlier this year, the programme has assisted a growing number of Caymanians on their journey towards property ownership. “Every grant awarded represents more than financial assistance,” said Brian Wight, President of CIREBA. “Behind every application is an individual or family working towards the goal of homeownership. We are proud that CIREBA and its members can play a small role in helping make that goal more achievable.” Pictured from left to right: Quatro Hatch, CIREBA Treasurer/Director; Brian Wight, CIREBA President/Director; Dena Rousseau, CIREBA Chief Operating Officer; Jossiah McLaughlin, grant recipient; and Gregg Arnold, recipient’s CIREBA agent, during their grant. The programme works alongside Government's existing stamp duty concession initiative and forms part of a wider effort to improve access to homeownership opportunities for Caymanians. To qualify, applicants must be first-time Caymanian homebuyers, have received Government approval for a stamp duty concession and be represented by a CIREBA member agent. Grant amounts are based on the property purchase price. For qualifying homes, the maximum property value is CI$600,000 (some restrictions may apply). Applications continue to be accepted, with submissions required within fourteen days of closing and accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation. “We can already see the positive impact the programme is having,” added Mr. Wight. “As more Caymanians benefit from the programme, we are seeing first-hand the difference it can make. Homeownership creates stability, builds equity and helps lay the foundation for future generations.” For more information about the programme, eligibility criteria, and application process, prospective applicants are encouraged to contact a CIREBA member agent.
